Muto e-Bike: TNW Gadget Review24/01/2021
The latest review by Spiegel Mobility took a close look at the Muto e-Bicycle. Judging performance, user experience and cost, Spiegal Mobility had a lot to say.
“A bike that takes a lot away but takes up little space: The Muto from the Netherlands scores with its sophisticated luggage rack system. The engine, on the other hand, leaves something to be desired.”
Let’s take a look at exactly what Speigel had to say.
First impressions count for a lot when choosing your perfect e-bike. Riders are not only looking for a bike that delivers performance, they also want their bike to look good as well. Therefore it’s a good job that the Muto brings style as well as substance.
“small, practical and unobtrusively modern. A bike that you look twice at.”
Muto’s promise is to deliver an e-bike that adapts to its user and delivers comfort, convenience and high-quality electrical performance. A multi-purpose and durable e-bike that’s designed around the user.
“The Muto is supposed to be a multifunctional e-bike that, thanks to the patented “Click & Roll” carrier system, can be transformed within seconds and can therefore be adapted to every route and every transport task. A valuable helper for all city dwellers who want or have to get by without a car in everyday life.”
Upon delivery, the Muto e-Bicycle is ready to ride. There’s no complicated build or set up, making it ideal for riders who simply want to unbox and get moving.
“The Muto can only be ordered online. It comes from the Netherlands in a box almost ready to drive. Just turn the handlebars straight, screw on the pedals and adjust the saddle height. The battery is charged, you can start.”
The Muto e-bicycle not only delivers in mechanics but its also designed for everyday use and tasks. Therefore it includes a basket allowing you to carry your goods with you, where ever you may go.
“To attach a basket to the bike, simply click it into the easily recognizable holder at the front or back. That’s it It can be locked theft-proof with a lock. Removing is just as easy: open the lock, lift the basket off, done. The small basket is certified for a load of 10 kilos and can be attached to the front or back. It is easily enough for a lot of things you want to take with you on the go. ”
Parking your Muto E-Bike couldn’t be easier. Spiegel found that parking the e-bike was simple, regardless of how heavy the bike became with your basket full.
“The parking support under the bottom bracket is also very successful. A feature that you quickly learn to appreciate in everyday life, regardless of whether you are transporting shopping in the basket or a child in the seat. With little pressure, the two feet fold out to the side and even fully loaded the bike can be put on the bike with almost no effort Push the bipod stand where it is rock solid even on uneven ground.”
The biggest question asked when reviewing an electric bike, is how does it ride? Well, Muto delivers there too. The Muto E-Bicycle rides smoothly, and comfortably whilst reaching good speeds.
“The Muto drives excellently. Because the front carrier is fixed to the frame, it can be maneuvered safely even with a lot of luggage. In general, the compact dimensions make the bike very manoeuvrable. But even at top speed it is stable and safe. The 26-inch tires iron out most of the bumps in the city. At 50 mm, they are wide enough not to thread into tram rails. Hydraulic disc brakes are used to effortlessly brake.”
